Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN)
A Wireless Local Area Network is a local network, for instance within an office, an airport or a hotel, to which devices in the area are wirelessly connected. Such a network is based on standardised WLAN technology.

 

PGP (Pretty Good Privacy)
PGP is an encryption method that can be used for encrypting e-mail communications.

 

SSL protection (Secure Sockets Layer)
SSL is an encryption method for protecting Internet connections. To signify a protected website, the status bar in the lower right corner of the browser window displays a lock icon, and the address line of the browser shows ‘https’ instead of ‘http’.

 

Identification data
Identification data includes information generated through electronic communication between people, saved for instance in service providers’ systems and on company-specific e-mail servers. Identification data can, for instance, reveal communication parties and the time of communication. The contents of the actual message are not revealed in identification data.
