7. Be careful
when using the Bluetooth technology and other wireless technology
| •
|
If you do not want your mobile
phone to be seen by other users via Bluetooth, do not tick "discoverable"
as your Bluetooth connection setting. If your Bluetooth connection
setting is on "discoverable", malware could be offered to
your mobile phone. Examples of other close-proximity wireless technologies are infra-red and WLAN.
|
| • |
Without your permission, however, malware having
accessed your mobile phone via the Bluetooth connection cannot install
itself. If your mobile phone requests to accept the installation of
an unknown program and you yourself have not started the installation,
it is not recommended that you accept such an installation.
|
| • |
It is normally possible to define on your phone a
list of trustworthy devices that can be connected to your mobile phone
via Bluetooth.
|
| • |
If a malicious program repeatedly tries to access your mobile phone via Bluetooth, wait for a while. The problem usually clears itself. You may also move a couple of tens of metres outside the coverage area. |
