Statistics on postal and small transportation operations published

In 2008, the volume of inland postal and small freight deliveries grew by 2 per cent from 2007. The greatest growth, approximately five per cent, was seen in unaddressed mail. The information is presented in the recent statistics on postal and small transportation operations.

The Postal and small transportation operations statistics is a statistical publication compiled by Statistics Finland and jointly published by Statistics Finland and the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority. The purpose of the statistics is to monitor the competitive situation in the postal operations sector.

In addition to licensed postal operations, the statistics covers other postal and small transportation operations, newspaper and magazine delivery and unaddressed mail.
