FICORA to hold a spectrum auction

The Act on Spectrum Auctions has been adopted at the plenary session of the Government on 18 June 2009. According to the Act, the licenses for the 2500-2690 MHz band will be issued at an auction. The Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority (FICORA) will hold a spectrum auction in November 2009.

FICORA is currently drafting a regulation on auction rules and the technical conditions of the radio licenses to be granted for the band. The authority will hold a public consultation on the draft regulation and the technical conditions of the radio license during the summer of 2009.
