New name server for the top-level domain .fi introduced

FICORA has introduced a new secondary root name server for the .fi root. The name server called as F.fi is the first name server completely maintained by FICORA. The name server has been implemented by a different technology than other root name servers. The new .fi root server will improve the coverage of name servers in Finland and enhance the already good credibility of the .fi root.

FICORA grants domain names under the .fi top-level domain i.e. .fi domain names. The authority is also responsible for the technical registration of domain names and administers the .fi root name servers.
