Unusual amounts of malware in networks

There is currently more malware than usual in Finnish networks. The malware in question allow unauthorized remote access to the user's computer.

The malware enable the attacker to create a botnet consisting of hijacked computers, which the attacker can then give commands to send spam, create service-of-denial attacks or use for other kinds of misuse. Malware are spread via instant messaging applications, such as Windows Live Messenger, or e-mail messages.

It may be necessary to reinstall the operating system in order to clean the infection. Antivirus software normally identify the most common malware versions.
