GSM Suomi Oyj's mobile phone subscriptions possibly terminated after 14 April 2009

The Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority (FICORA) has been informed that the network agreement of GSM Suomi Oyj has terminated and that the mobile phone traffic in the current network will come to an end on 14 April at 16.00.

GSM Suomi Oyj will provide further information on eventual replacing network operator arrangements and the continuation of mobile phone services.

If the mobile operations of GSM Suomi Oyj come to an end and its customers wish to continue using mobile services even after 14 April 2009, they should turn to another telecoms operator and make a subscription agreement with it. Customers may either take a new number or keep his or her current mobile number. It may take a maximum of five days to port the current number, so a service break is to be expected due to this. FICORA urges telecoms operators to hasten the process of number portability in this situation. Customers may also buy prepaid subscriptions.
