A radio licence must be acquired from the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority for the use of the radio transmitters operating in these channels.

Principles

-The channels are intended only for communications in connection with the carrying on of a profession or trade and business

- The applicant for a licence is granted the right to use these channels throughout Finland

- The licence is granted for all channels, by area (area 2, 3, 4 or 5)

- The channels are in common use and allowed exclusively for speech transmission

- These channels are allowed only for mobile radio telephones

- The radiated power of the radio transmitters operating in these channels must not exceed 5 W (ERP)

- The channel width is 12.5 kHz in the frequency band 150 MHz (area 2), in other frequency bands it is 25 kHz

- A radio transmitter’s conformity to requirements must be assessed as laid down in the Act on Radio Frequencies and Telecommunications Equipment (1015/2001), in other words in Directive 1999/5/EC. The transmitter must bear the CE marking and be accompanied with the manufacturer's declaration of conformity.
