In the Ficora Radio Frequency Regulation No. 4 the frequency band 174 - 230 MHz is primarily allocated to broadcasting.
In the future the use of radio microphones and aids for the hearing impaired may have to be restricted due to television and broadcasting transmission. In that case interference-free use of the radio microphones and aids for the hearing impaired cannot be guaranteed. Neither can interference-free operation be guaranteed for radio microphones and aids for the hearing impaired in the same places of use. A radio licence is required, as the use of frequencies for the radio microphones and aids for the hearing impaired operating on this frequency band has not been harmonised within Europe. Due to the above it may not be possible to renew a radio licence when it has expired.
The maximum radiated power allowed for radio microphone transmitters and aids for the hearing impaired is 10 mW ERP and the total bandwidth of emission is max. 200 kHz.
Radio microphones are also used in the band 800 MHz:
800 MHz radio microphones
Also frequencies, on which no licence for the transmitters are needed, have been assigned for aids for the hearing impaired. See Ficora Regulation 15, Annex, item 13.
Compliance with the requirements of radio microphones and aids for the hearing impaired
