Television and radio operators

Television or radio operations can be carried out holding a licence or being subject to notification. The Finnish Government grants licences for television and radio operations carried out in a terrestrial mass communications network, whereas FICORA grants short-term licences for television and radio operations. Carrying out television and radio operations of other kind must be notified to FICORA. The operations of the Finnish Broadcasting Company are governed in the Act on the Finnish Broadcasting Company Ltd.

FICORA maintains a list of television operators who have submitted a notification. There are 20 of them at the moment. A list of local radio stations that have been granted a licence is placed on FICORA's website.
