Radio Frequency Regulation 4

The Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority's (FICORA) Radio Frequency Regulation No. 4 has been revised on 20 October 2011. The Frequency Allocation Table, which is annexed to the Regulation, comprises the frequency range 9 kHz - 400 GHz. FICORA Regulation No. 15 on collective frequencies for licence-exempt radio transmitters and on their use has been also revised on 20 October 2011.

The Radio Frequency Regulation that came into force 20 October 2011 replaces the previous Radio Frequency Regulation.

The Radio Frequency Regulation contains also the results of previous public consultations organised by the Radio Frequencies profit area. Furthermore, The European table of frequency allocations and utilisations (ERC Report 25) have been taken into account.

The Radio Frequency Regulation also defines the regulated interfaces referred to in Article 4(1) of the Directive on radio equipment and telecommunications terminal equipment and the mutual recognition of their conformity (1999/5/EC). Concerning radio transmitters, the interfaces determine whether a licence may be granted or whether the equipment may be exempted from licensing.

The Regulation has been notified to the Commission of the European Communities as referred to in Directive 98/34/EC.

Frequency utilisation across Europe can be search and compared with EFIS system which is provided by ECO.

The Radio Frequency Regulation 4 with its Annexes is available electronically [PDF, 556 KB] in English.
