Placing on the marketRadio equipment and telecommunications terminal equipment are to be placed on the market in accordance with R&TTE Directive 1999/5/EC which has been implemented in Finland by the Act on Radio Frequencies and Telecommunications Equipment (1015/2001). In Finland it is allowed to sell only compliant radio and telecommunications terminal equipment. The equipment shall bear appropriate markings, and shall be accompanied with a Declaration of Conformity and all necessary information to the user. Radio equipment and telecommunications terminal equipment shall bear a CE marking. The CE marking shall appear on the equipment, on the packaging and in the user's manual. If the manufacturer has consulted a notified body for conformity assessment, the identification number of the notified body shall be added to the CE marking. If there are restrictions on the use of the radio transmitter, or if the usage requires a licence, this shall be indicated by an alert symbol in the CE marking. Every piece of equipment shall be accompanied with a declaration of conformity. The manufacturer or the body placing the product on the EEA market is responsible for the conformity of the product. However, the importer and the retailer have to ensure that every piece of equipment is accompanied with a declaration of conformity, either as a copy of the original declaration or as an indication where the responsible party declares that the product is in compliance with the essential requirements and other relevant provisions of Directive 1999/5/EC. An indication of the intended use of the equipment shall be available for the user. In addition, the packaging and the user's manual of the radio transmitters shall include information on the countries or the geographical areas where the equipment is intended to be used. Telecommunications terminal equipment shall be provided with information on what interfaces of the networks the equipment is intended to be connected to. Notification under article 6.4 of the R&TTE DirectiveAt least four weeks prior to the equipment being placed on the Finnish national market, the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority shall be notified of radio transmitters, using frequencies which in the Frequency Allocation Table of FICORA have been assigned for other usage. Notifications can be submitted via the European OSN (One Stop Notification) portal. The OSN portal enables you to submit notifications to all EU member states necessary at one time. Please register and sign in at https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/enterprise-portal and select "My Applications" for opening the access to the OSN portal.
