ENUM

FICORA begins to register Finnish ENUM domains on 2 October 2006. ENUM is based on the public Domain Name System (DNS), and thus it offers global reachability. The service enables end users and companies to control their own communications when necessary and, for instance, receive calls dialled with telephone numbers even directly over the Internet. This brings cost savings and more versatile VoIP call features to end users.

FICORA's ENUM service itself is not offered directly to users, but ENUM is used to enable other services. Therefore, only service providers can register ENUM domains through FICORA's ENUM system.
