Television fees

FICORA collects a television fee from those using a television. About 90 percent of the operations of the Finnish Broadcasting Company Ltd (YLE) are covered by fees from television users. YLE produces programmes and content services for the radio, television, mobile devices and Internet.

A television fee is collected from television users in all Nordic countries and in almost all Member States to fund public service radio and television companies.

Decisions on YLE's new financing and administration model will be made in 2011. The Ministry of Transport and Communications continues to work on the reform.
