Examinations and certificates

The user of a maritime radio transmitter or an amateur radio transmitter must be the holder of a certificate issued by the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority (FICORA) or a foreign certificate acknowledged by FICORA.

In order to get a certificate you have to pass an examination. The examiners must be authorised by FICORA.

A Finnish Ship Station Licence may only be issued if the radio operator has an appropriate maritime radio certificate.

The owner of a radio amateur licence or the person responsible for an amateur club station must be a holder of an amateur radio certificate.
