Radio equipment exempted from licensing
Receivers, receivers used in broadcasting and other separate receivers do not need a licence. Furthermore, a licence is not required for all transmitters.
It shall, however, be attested that the radio equipment complies with requirements so that equipment that causes interference in other radiocommunications is not placed on the market.
The following pieces of radio equipment are, for instance, exempted from licensing:
- GSM and UMTS mobile stations
- PR 27 and LA (CB) telephones
- Cordless telephones
- Satellite telephones
- WLAN/RLAN equipment operating in 2,4 GHz and/or 5 GHz bands
- Telecommand equipment operating on collective frequencies and
- Equipment for detecting movement and equipment for alert.
The FICORA Regulation No. 15 [PDF, 106 KB] contains a list of radio equipment exempted from licensing.
The FICORA's booklet LVR 1/2010 [PDF, 39 KB] presents the most important information in the Acts governing the possession and use of radio equipment exempted from licensing.
