Radio equipment subject to licence

The aim of FICORA is to assign the users of radio equipment suitable and sufficiently interference-free frequencies. The licence that entitles the holder to possess and use a radio transmitter guides the use of frequencies. An annual frequency fee will be charged for the licence. A licence is granted only for equipment that complies with the requirements.

All radio transmitters not exempted from licensing will need a licence granted by FICORA.

You may apply for a licence by letter, fax (+358 9 6966 410) or e-mail to radiotaajuudet(at)ficora.fi. An application received by e-mail will be acknowledged automatically.

The authority's new electronic service enables you to apply for a VHF radio telephone licence for hobby usage and professional communications (e.g. hunting radio telephone) https://eservices.ficora.fi. The licence is paid through your online banking service. The service is being tested so far, but will later be extended to cover the authority's other services.

Questions about radiocommunications, licences and frequency usage, as well as about compliance with requirements and marking of radio equipment, can be sent to radiocom(at)ficora.fi.
